Thad Miner, CEO

George R. Miner

Over the past half-century, Miner-Dederick Construction has built many of Houston’s most revered structures, some that are grand and immense and others that are more modest and functional. Miner-Dederick and its respected team of subcontractors have been major players in creating Houston’s monumental skyline while also constructing purposeful churches and schools that bring value and quality to their communities. From churches and schools to high-rises and hotels, our wide range of projects shows our versatility.

A pillar in the Houston construction community, Miner-Dederick prides itself on its longevity and the reputation it has earned in the marketplace.

Thad Dederick started the family-owned business in 1947, and in the early 1950s he teamed with his son-in-law George Miner, a Rice University engineering graduate. After Mr. Dederick passed away in 1955, George Miner became CEO, a position he held until he passed away in February 2002.

The third generation of the Miner-Dederick family is now leading the company:

  • Thad Miner, who serves as Chief Executive Officer
  • Warner Strang, Executive Vice President
  • Julia Odell, Vice President of Project Management
  • Dan Shead, Vice President of Construction
  • Tricia Miner, Director of Business Development
  • Stephen Horvath, Head of Field Operations.

Collectively, they manage the company the way it has always been managed and believe that hard work, honesty and integrity begets success.

Our mission is to deliver what we promise.

Our vision is building relationships for life.
